It’s a little mysterious why Sodapoppin is so popular. Despite not engaging in simple self-promotional activities like tweeting his stream schedule, the exceedingly sarcastic content creator, who is known for regularly ripping on his viewers and making vulgar remarks, is one of the most popular Twitch streamers.
He nearly seems to be able to carve out his own niche by defying all the accepted norms for success, as seen by the spectators’ confusion about whether he is being brazenly direct or sardonic.

So it made sense that Sodapoppin was among the top 50 highest-paid streamers between August 2019 and October 2021 when Twitch payouts were released earlier this month.
It also made fitting because Soda tweeted right away to lightheartedly inform everyone that he earns “WAY more” than what the leaks suggested.
According to the leak, Twitch paid Soda $1,461,302 throughout that 26-month span for subscriptions, bits, and ad revenue on his channel. Direct contributions, sponsorship partnerships, and any exclusivity agreements Soda might have with Twitch are not included in that sum.
Soda was the 43rd highest-paid streamer during that time period based on the rewards that were made public by the leak. However, Sodapoppin had a couple extended vacations from streaming on his primary channel during this time period after World of Warcraft Classic was released in August 2019. He took vacation time in 2019 during the second half of September, a week in October, the second half of November, and nearly the entire month of December. Following that, he also skipped the first half of January 2020.
Many streamers take occasional breaks, but given how long Soda took off and how closely his payout total compares to other highly-rated streamers, it is obvious that his time off had an impact on where he was ranked in terms of payouts.
As required by Twitch, Sodapoppin plays commercial breaks on his channel frequently. As of the time of writing, he has 7,933 subscribers on the platform. 22,488 is his record number of active subscribers.
SullyGnome reports that Soda averaged 21,088 viewers over the last 12 months. He amassed more than 54 million hours of viewing thanks to that average, placing him among the top 25 streamers on the site over the course of the previous 365 days.
