The land also has low visibility as per the name tells that, snow impacts the player’s ability to see what’s coming.
Although the Consecrated Snowfield is not a mandatory place to visit in Elden Ring and if you are not looking for it, you cannot Find It!
So if you are looking for this snow-covered part of Lands Between, we have got you covered. Continue reading as we give you a walk-through about how to get to the Snow Area in Elden Ring.
Why do we Need to Get to the Consecrated Snowfield in Elden Ring?
Before we embark on this journey to this secluded area filled with snow, you need to know that it is not necessary to visit this place at all.
This place is filled with its fair share of loot, gear, upgrades, and key items. It also has a list of enemies and bosses that need to be turned down before heading forward in this area.
Two such bosses of this area include Putrid Avatar and Crusader Misbegotten. Initially, this Snow Area is hard to survive due to bad weather conditions and poor visibility but as you keep moving forward the conditions get better.
So if you don’t want to search these side areas and want to play the main questline of Elden Ring, good enough. But if you want to cover every nook and corner of Lands Between, we are here to help you to get to this secret part of the Elden Ring.
Consecrated Snowfield Aka Snow Area in Elden Ring
To get to this area of Elden Ring, players have to do something similar to resurrecting the broken halves of the Dectus Medallion to galvanize the Grand Lift of Dectus.
For Snow Area, players have to bring together the broken halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, but to get them together you need to travel a lot as the two halves are hidden at different places.
Once the medallion’s halves are found, players have to head to the Grand Lift of Rold. If players have played different areas of Elden Ring, they would already know that they can only reach this place by going to the Mountaintops off the Giants.

Before you plan to head to the Great Lift of Rold, it would be wise to earn the Rold Medallion first. To get this medallion you need to kill Morgott, The Omen King who is Demigod of Leyndill of the Royal Capital.
It is the wisest route to the Snowy Area of Elden Ring.
Defeating Morgott
To defeat Morgott, keep the following considerations in mind:
#1 Recommended Level
To defeat Morgott of Leyndill, players must have reached game level 75.
#2 Use Respec Ability
If you lack enough strength to have a face-off with this adversary, use Respec Ability. You get rewarded with this ability as you fight the Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon at the Academy of Raya Lucaria.
#3 Keep a Stash of Health Potions
A good health potion stock would help you in maintaining your life status. So try looking for Golden Seeds or Sacred Tears to keep your Sacred Flasks up-to-date.
#4 Use Haligdrake Talisman
To bravely survive the Holy Damage caused by Morgott, use Holy Damage Negation as a booster and equip Haligdrake Talisman.
#5 Use Lone Wolves, Spirit Ash
This spirit ash can successfully make him vulnerable for a few seconds and that can be your queue to cause Morgott some serious damage.
#6 Equip Margit’s Shackle
Margit’s Shackle is a great way to make Morgott stumble giving you a chance to finish it just like it helped you lurch Margit. Margit’s Shackle can be bought from Murkwater Cave’s boss.
#7 Inflict Bleed or Rot Damage
These types of damage help you to inflict severe destruction on the opposing side which can be very beneficial for you if you are facing tough adversaries like Morgott.
To bring down its health bar quickly, weapons like Moonveil or Reduvia are a good option.
If you are a pro at using magic Rotten Breath Spell is a good choice to bite off a good chunk of the health bar of Morgott.
#8 Use the Recovery Time to Attack
While Morgott needs to recover from all the damages you have caused, don’t let it use the recovery time and keep making harsh moves to bring it down completely.
If you want to use the other route to get to the Snow Area of Elden Ring, that requires players to unlock another secret area which will put them in a fight against Malenia, Blade of Miquella.
For this fight, players first have to resurrect the long-lost two halves of the Haligtree Medallion.
Fighting Malenia, Blade of Miquella
Malenia, Blade of Miquella is one tough boss of the Elden Ring of the hidden area. Although confronting him is entirely your choice. Still, if you choose to fight her, use these tactics to win this battle against her:
- In the first phase of this confrontation, players can benefit from her staggering
- Shielding weapons can be used to dodge her every attempt to attack you
- Gravity spells can also be used at this point to bring down her attacks
- To shield yourself against Malenia’s malicious attacks, Bloodhound Step Ash of War is perfect to break down her rapid moves
- To distract her and the attacks, The Greatshield Soldier Ashes can also be beneficial
Haligtree Medallion and How to Get its Two-Halves?
Village of Albinaurics and Part One of the Haligtree Medallion

One-half of the Heligtree Medallion can be collected from the Village of Albinaurics. To locate this part of the medallion, follow the below-mentioned trail:
- From the Site of Grace of this village, continue moving straight and then hike the cliff on the right side
- As you reach the top, a wide pot could be seen on the right side
- By tapping on it twice, an NPC would appear telling his history
- Either you can hear out or you can just continue by killing him there
- His demise would give the first of Haligttree Medallion
Mountaintops of the Giants, Castel Sol, and Part Two of the Haligtree Medallion

To get to the second half of this medallion, players need to get to Castle Sol located on the Mountaintops of the Giants below is the trail you need to follow:
Pro-tip: In Elden Ring, areas like Liurnia of the Lakes, Limgrave, or the Altus Plateau require endurance before you reach the Mountaintops of the Giants.
- Travel towards the Castel Sol
- Once reached there, continue going straight and search for the “Stargazer’s Ruins”
- Then move to the main entrance of Castle Sol’s Site of Lost Grace

- Take the northern bridge to get to this site of grace but stay alert of the foes wandering in this area
- Go ahead and galvanize the Site of Lost Grace and a ghost-brooding knight can also be found near this site
- Once you spot the knight travel straight from there
- Try to search for a doorway at the backside leading to a staircase
- The staircase will take you to a building that comes on your right side
- Enter that building and use the elevator to head up
- Once you reach the building’s top, vacate the lift and leave the building using the staircase
- Stairs will take you outside and now you can see a violet-coloured item
- This is the second half of the Haligtree Medallion
- Before collecting this part, players need to bring down another tough foe name Commander Naill. His defeat would reward you with this purple-coloured half of the Haligtree Medallion
Now you have both parts of the Medallion, and let’s see what you have to do further to get to the Consecrated Snowfield in Elden Ring.
Haligtree Medallion and Grand Lift of Rold
Now that both halves of the Haligtree Medallion have been put together, you are ready to make an entrance in the Grand Lift of Rold. Follow the below-given steps:
- Once you get there, use the Rold Medallion players have collected from the defeat of Morgott, The Omen King

- Once the players use their D-pad, a special option would appear saying “Hoist Secret Medallion”
- Note here that once you have the complete Haligtree Medallion, closely look at the screen to find the “Switch Action” prompt which could only be seen after having both parts of the medallion
- Using D-pad’s right or left button would make the character hoist the medallion to the lift
- For Xbox X/S Series, “Y” is the button on the controller that needs to be pressed
- When the option is tapped, players would enter a cutscene where the player’s character would use the Haligtree Medallion
- If you raise the Rold Medallion, the red glowing eyes of two giants would emerge but in the case of the Haligtree Medallion green glow would appear from the eyes giving you access to the secret section

- After the cutscene is over, players would arrive at the area named “Hidden Path of the Haligtree”
- If you are unable to locate the lift, get to the Forbidden Lands section which lies east of Leyndell
- After entering this Hidden Path, keep walking until you get to the stairs that could be found on the left side
- Beware of some hidden enemies at this point as well
- Simply avoid them and move forward
- Now walk straight and use the staircase to go upstairs
- You can see a door up there that leads to the Snow Area

- But be careful of a gigantic Crab Monster who would fall on you once you get closer to this door
- You can easily ditch him if you are ready for his cameo
- You have to either fight him or avoid him to get past this door by rolling and dodging
- After passing through that door, head upwards, and on top of the place a Site of Grace could be found, and finally you have arrived at the Snow Area of the Elden Ring
- Now you can go around and explore it as per your excitement
- Know that the bosses in this area are very tough and you need to be strong and ready to fight them
