The recording feature is fantastic… provided you are able to locate the recordings you record. If you’ve not changed the settings for the location where you save your VLC recording is saved they’ll show:

• On Windows, in your Videos folder
• On Mac, in your Movies folder

If you’re using an operating system that’s different, or your files aren’t located within those folders, it may have altered the folder for your VLC records folder. To find out you can go to Tools > Preferences

Then, in the Input / Codecs tab you can find the directory under Files and Record directory or filename:

If the field is empty (like in the picture above), it might be worth setting a folder and re-record anything you need.
