You don’t need to roll for the flip strike; simply side-step to the right and backstab the opponent. Continue until Tragoth is vanquished.
It is best to retreat rather than attempt an R2 when Tragoth awakens from a backstab. It is advisable to avoid being entirely hit because Tragoth can quickly recover and launch an assault with his Great Hammer.
Weapons to Tackle Great Horned Tragoth:
Wait for Tragoth to perform his flip attack or ground slam attack, then hit him with a ranged attack as he is recovering. If you time the cast correctly and have access to higher-level sorceries or enchantments, you can deal Tragoth some respectable damage. Shooting him with an improved bow will work well in this situation.
Watch out for Tragoth’s Crossbow, which could interfere with your ranged assaults.
Use Poisonous Arrows:
Use poison arrows to deal with Tragoth’s high HP somewhat safely. The only significant drawbacks of this tactic are that you will be using an expensive ammo type and that it will take some time to finish off Tragoth this way.
