Contract Deadly Delights Walkthrough
This quest can be acquired via a notice posted on the Golden Sturgeon Notice board, near the docks West of Hierarch Square.
After grabbing the notice from the board by the Golden Sturgeon, you’ll need to track down and speak to a Novigrad Guard on the northern end of the bridge by the Fish market, just south of Hierarch Square. Speak with this fellow and he’ll fill you in with a little more detail on the contract.
Following the conversation, make your way over to the docks to the west and speak with the Medic here about the contract. Once you have quizzed him using all the available conversation options, our objectives will update.
Once we are through with the Medic, we’ll need to head over to the site of the last attack. This can be found in a back alley close to the south of the bridge by the fish market where we started the side-quest. When you arrive at the site of the attack, examine the investigation area. Activate Geralt’s Witcher Senses and explore the area. You can inspect the following points of interest:
- Set of humanoid footprints.
- Set of hooved footprints.
Follow the hooved footprints away from the crime scene along the streets here until they turn into a side alley. You’ll need to hop over a crate blocking the path and your objectives will update. We’re at Crippled Kate’s Brothel! Head around to the front side of the building and head inside to speak with the Madame. During the conversation you’ll have a few options:
- “All the clues lead here.” – You’ll be forced to find your own way to the next objective.
- “Tell me the Truth.” – Geralt will use AXII to learn the next objective location and she’ll give you a Key. You’ll also earn 40XP.
- “Want me to bring the Temple Guard?” – She’ll tell you the next objective location and give you a Key.
If you were unable to convince the Madame to reveal the information required to continue, fear not! Return back to the other side of the building to where the tracks led us earlier. In a small niche to the left of the back door you’ll find smashed perfume container we can examine with Witcher Sense. This will create a scent trail we can follow with Witcher Sense active that will lead us to the next objective location.
The scent trail/objective marker will lead us to a locked door. There is a fellow standing by the foot of the stairs nearby who looks a little out of sorts that we can speak with to update our information.
We’ll now need to get into the locked door. If you have the Key already, you can simply open the door. Alternatively, you can cruise back down the stairs and enter the adjacent house. Inside, climb the stairs to the top and use the ladder. Follow the set passage here across the narrow wooden platform and up a second ladder. At the top, drop into the room below. Descend the stairs to reach the locked door.
Once inside, speak with Salma in the chair here. During the conversation you’ll have two general options, you can either tell her to leave Novigrad or fight her.
Note: If you spare the Succubus, she’ll hand over a silver blade – Maugrin and a Succubus Trophy.
Note: If you kill the Succubus, in addition to the silver blade – Maugrin and a Succubus Trophy, she’ll also yield the Succubus Mutagen as well.
If you do decide to fight her, prepare for a tricky fight…
Boss: Salma (Succubus)
The Succubus fight can be a little difficult mostly because it takes part in such a small space. The boss has several quick-fire melee and casting attacks that have a fire effect which can in addition to immediate health damage, can also cause a damage over time status. As this is the case, the bos can dish out a heck of a lot of damage in quite a short amount of time.
Fortunately, the Succubus has a fairly low amount of health and a few blows from your sword will fell her fairly quickly. Ensure that you use QUEN to give Geralt additional armour whilst fighting her and get as many shots in as you can before it wears off before manoeuvring around and avoiding her attacks until the cooldown is up and you can activate QUEN once again. It is also possible to use AARD to interrupt her attacks and stun her, albeit briefly.
Repeat until the Succubus is dead.
Once you have made your decision and either spared/killed her and have the Succubus Trophy in your possession, return to the Novigrad Guard by the fish market to hand in the side-quest.
Note: At this point, you’ll earn 250XP and 186 Crowns.

Trail of Echoes Quest Walkthrough – The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt (Kaer Morhen Side Quest)
Start Location: To the northwest of Kaer Morhen fortress, you’ll see a path leading into the hills. Follow this to find the entrance to a cave we’ll need to explore for the quest.
Note: This appears to be a non-official side-quest and as such does not have its own journal entry. it does however give you a lot of backstory on Witchers and earns you a bit of XP, so is definitely worth checking out.
Make your way over to the location described above and as you work your way along the dirt path towards the entrance marker, note that you should be careful as the entrance is guarded by a group of 6-8 Harpies.
Upon entering the cave, move through the set passage, you’ll run across a Nekker Warrior and a Rotfiend. Once they are dealt with, you can proceed further into the cave and reach a laboratory type area populated by a group of four Nekker Warriors. Again clear them out.
In the lab here, we can search the area. Activate your Witcher Senses and you can inspect the following:
- One of the tables for mutations located throughout the lab.
- One of the pots of mutagens in the area.
- Broken contraption near the stairs at the back of the lab.
- Large wooden vat for seeping herbs at the back of the cave.
- Barrel opposite the vat at the back of the cave.
- Document – ‘Trial of the Grasses Registry Tome’ on one of the mutation tables at the back of the cave.
The document is most important here. Loot this to earn some XP.
Note: For completing the quest you’ll earn 25XP.
There are also quite a few chests to be looted in here you for some good stuff (mine included Diagram: Eirlithrad). Looting the cave will essentially complete this non-official side-quest.
Witcher 3 Fists of Fury Novigrad Walkthrough
Fists of Fury Novigrad Walkthrough
This quest can be acquired via a notice posted on the Hierarch’s Square Notice board in central Novigrad.
This is the second ‘Fist of Fury’ side-quest and like the one in Velen is short, relatively easy and probably won’t cause you too much grief (as long as you are at the recommended level). The side-quest requires that you track down a series of challengers and best them in hand-to-hand combat.
As you approach each of the challengers, you need to speak with Master Claytop (at the Golden Sturgeon) or a Bookie nearby to set up a fight, during which you can bet gold – if you win, you’ll double your deposit and if you lose you’ll lose it all. You can find the fighters in the following locations:
Georgius George –This fellow can be found in the Golden Sturgeon on Novigrad’s docks. Before the fight, the organiser will ask you to take a dive – it’s up to you whether you do or not. When you get around to fighting him be warned – he is able to riposte and counter you if you try to chain too many attacks against him. Be patient and get a blow or two in and then counter him and repeat.
Archibald O’Neil – The second fighter is found near the Portside Gate in southern Novigrad. Compared to the previous match, Archibald is an easy target. Simply dodge when he attacks and immediately counter, he should go down in no time.
Iron Mortimer – Mortimer is located in the eastern part of Novigrad’s largest island. As with Archibald he is a relatively easy match up with no real surprises in stock for you. Simply dodge when he attacks and immediately counter, he should go down in no time.
Durden the Tailor (yep, that’s totally a reference to Fight Club) – The Tailor is the final challenge and he is definitely the trickiest of the fighters you’ll face. He is quite fast and can rattle off a few punches at you very quickly whilst also being able to riposte you if you get greedy with your attacks. As such, reserve your attacks to countering incoming blows. Sure it’ll take longer, but you’ll get it done!
Note: You’ll earn 25XP per win for defeating each of the first three combatants and 75XP for defeating the Tailor.

Contract The Apiarian Phantom Walkthrough
This quest can be acquired via a notice posted on the Yantra Notice board.
Once you have obtained the contract from the Yantra notice board, make your way to the objective marker on the map directly east of Novigrad. It is located just by the ‘Honeyfill Meadworks’ fast travel marker (if you have that unlocked) or about halfway between the ‘Arette’ and ‘Dancing Windmill’ fast travel markers.
Upon arriving at the Honeyfill Meadworks, enter the main building here to find and speak with the Halfling, Holofernes Meirsdorf on the ground floor. He’ll fill you in with a little more detail on the contract.
After chatting with the Halfling, we’ll need to follow a pair of his sons, Franklin and Bernie who’ll lead us to the site of the attack. When you arrive, examine the investigation area. Activate Geralt’s Witcher Senses and inspect the following points of interest:
- The small pool of blood next to the bee hive.
- The frozen bee hive in the centre of the search area.
- A set of footprints leading away from the bee hive.
Follow the footprints away from the frozen bee hive here until they disappear into the water. At this point, follow the shore to the south, killing two groups of Drowners and Drowned Dead enemies (watch out for the latter, they are of a higher level!). Along the shore of the lake just to the west of a small ruin on the map, you’ll find the footprints once again.
Once again, follow the footprints until they lead you to a small hole in the ground. We won’t be able to go any further, so climb up and examine the ruined building above. Follow the objective marker to find a short set of stairs leading down to the basement of the ruin. Approach the locked door for a scene.
Note: At this point, you’ll earn 25XP.
Following the short scene, the door will now be unlockable. Open it and head inside when you are ready for a fight.
Boss: Apiarian Phantom
The Apiarian Phantom is in fact a Hound of the Wild Hunt and although he has a little more health than the standard variant, he’s fortunately easy enough to eliminate. As with the other Hounds you’ve encountered previously, it utilises the same general move sets as the rabid Dogs or Wolves. As such its moves are easy to predict and dodge.
The Hounds of the Wild Hunt are weak against IGNI and can be stunned using AXII, so be sure to utilise those two abilities to make things easier on yourself. Despite the cramped surroundings, you’ll still need to dodge the boss’s attacks however, so try to move laterally rather than forward or back to prevent yourself from getting stuck on a wall or cornered.
Other than that, compared to some of the other contract monsters, this one should be a push over. Simply dodge attacks and drill him with your own when there is an opening and after a short fight victory will be yours!
Once the boss is dead loot its body for the Wild Hunt Hound Trophy along with any other items of interest it is carrying around.
With your new Wild Hunt Hound Trophy in hand, return to the Holofernes Meirsdorf who can now be found in the fields outside the Honeyfill Meadworks to hand in the side-quest.
