There are several reasons why you would want to be able to find your save files if you are a Borderlands 3 payer. Among the popular reasons, one is to generate backups that prevent progress loss in case saves are lost or corrupted. These backups are doubled as saves; you can get back to it at a later date for mere nostalgia or to check how much of progress you have made in the game. Certain third-party applications that let you change your game saves also need access to the save files. That is why it is important to know where your saved files are.

But the question should not be why you would want to access your game saves. Rather, it should be how you can access them. For your operating system, you can get help below:

It’s important to note that if you’re using a service such as Steam Cloud, they will be located in your Steam library’s folder (userdata > your Steam3ID > 397540 > remote), not at one of the below paths.

 Windows

On Windows, regardless of whether you’re using Epic Games or Steam, your Borderlands 3 save game files will be located in this folder:

%UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 3\Saved\SaveGames

Simply paste that path into the address bar of File Explorer and hit ENTER to go to it.

 Mac

If you’re playing Borderlands 3 on a Mac, you can find your save game files for both Steam and Epic Games in the following folder:

~/Library/Application Support/GearboxSoftware/OakGame/Saved

To go to that folder:

1. Open a Finder window
2. Press COMMAND + SHIFT + G on your keyboard to open a Go window
3. Paste ~/Library/Application Support/GearboxSoftware/OakGame/Saved into the text field
4. Hit Go and you’ll be taken to your saves folder!

Photo Mode Screenshots Folder

Screenshots taken in Borderlands 3’s Photo Mode will be automatically saved to your hard drive. Note that these screenshots are not the same as Steam screenshots (taken with F12).

On Windows, Photo Mode screenshots are saved at:

%UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 3\Saved\Screenshots

Paste that path into the address bar of File Explorer and hit ENTER to jump to it.

 Mac

On Mac, your Photo Mode screenshots will be in this folder:

~/Library/Application Support/GearboxSoftware/OakGame/Saved/Screenshots

Open up Finder, press COMMAND + SHIFT + G, paste the above path in, and hit Go to access it.
