We don’t often get good horse racing games, to be honest, but when we do, it is a hidden gem like Rival Stars Horse Racing.
This is currently one of the most popular horse racing games for mobile and desktop and there is a good reason for that. First of all, the graphics look incredible. Secondly, there are plenty of features that recreate the perfect horse racing scene from start to finish. This will give you an idea of what is like to become a racehorse owner and give you a behind the curtains look at the sport.
Since Rival Stars Horse Racing comes with many different game modes and features, we decided to give you a beginner’s guide to get you started. After all, it is very easy to make a mistake if you don’t know what you are doing. Let’s jump in.
About Rival Stars Horse Racing
PikPok, located in New Zealand, created Rival Stars Horse Racing, a horse racing game. The “Desktop Edition” follows the release of Rival Stars Horse Racing for Android and iOS in 2018 and 2019, as well as a console version of the same game titled Phar Lap Horse Racing Challenge.
Unlike the smartphone game, the console version has not been updated since its debut and appears to be controlled by a partner firm rather than PikPok itself.
The game opens with a very gorgeous opening sequence that introduces you to your family’s unnamed farm and horse racing company, which has fallen into disrepair following a fatal accident on the track. You meet your mentor, Francis Kwan, horse trainer Trenton James, and stable manager Sophie Martin, who will serve as your mentors and quest givers throughout.
Following the narrated and animated sequence, the plot is told through text boxes and character portraits, with the narrative soon falling behind the action.
My initial impression of the gaming was how fast-paced it was. With few initial tasks and vividly designated buttons to hit, you may swiftly go through the game’s fundamental mechanics: racing, training, breeding, and growing.
While horse racing is a fully three-dimensional experience with its own controls and challenges, everything else is handled through the User Interface and clicking, with actual upgrades and level-ups occurring quickly and with satisfying audiovisual feedback, but no additional mechanics or challenges.
How to choose your horse
You may either breed a horse or buy one on the market in return for gold coins or real money. Breeding is the greatest technique to obtain a high-quality horse.
All you have to do is choose two horses and wait for the results. On the game screen, select the stables option. From here, you can view horse and breeding stalls. Tap the breed horse icon to pick two horses: mare and stud.
All of the horses in the Rival Stars Horse Racing game have varied attributes, including speed, sprint energy, and acceleration. Training enhances these statistics and prepares them to confront the arduous race.
How to Win a Race
To win a race the start is very important.
When leaving, push at the appropriate time to receive an acceleration boost. If you enjoy playing manually, there are a few things you should know. The first is to tap when the bar pointer hits the middle (white surface). It provides you with a terrific head start and places you straight on the sprint energy charging track.
This will help you to gain a solid start in the race.
Then concentrate on your positioning; blue patches will show you where to position yourself. Sprint as needed to get yourself in the appropriate position.
As soon as the ideal position is taken, your sprint gauge will reload quickly. Steer your horse to take the finest trajectories (inside corners). When your sprint gauge is full, use the chance to sprint a bit while maintaining the proper posture.
Increase your gauge to the maximum for the final straight line, the last 200 meters. As soon as the last 200 meters begin, race to the finish!
If your position is favorable, you will be able to run to the end since the reload will be faster.

How to Breed
One of the most intriguing features of this game is growing your own horses.
The stable allows you to construct your own champions.
Your beginning gold and the gold collected from the objectives will allow you to breed horses of a higher rank soon and buy the first boxes necessary.
Choose to cross your beginning mare with a higher-level stallion.
Your chances of achieving a better rank will significantly rise.
Options 4 and 5 in gold will allow you to swiftly enhance the rank of your filly (or foal, if you are lucky). If you don’t have any more gold, you can utilize options 1 and 2 or buy a foal in the market with money or roses earned during events.
Building a class will take longer and be more expensive in terms of objects.
To breed your first foal, you’ll need patience. A few crossings will be required to reach there unless you are really lucky. Your first foal will come around level 5 in your narrative (depending on luck and crossover rate).
Final Words
These are the main key aspects of the game that require your biggest input. Once you master racing, and know how to choose the perfect horse, you’ll win most of your races.
