Pokémon is uniquely characterized by various complex structures within the gameplay. Enlisted amongst these structures are the type chart and how these types interact with one another.
Presently, eighteen (18) different types of Pokémon are discovered. Out of these types; with 171 distinct combinations, there are a total of 324 ways to type-assign Pokémon, 155 of which have been used as of Generation VIII.
Each of these types owns the combination of a unique set of strength, weakness and resistance. The majority of the time, though, a type’s weaknesses can be completely illogical, leaving fans to wonder why, for example, the Dark type would be vulnerable to Fighting-type moves.
Since they can be just as perplexing as the other vulnerabilities, we shall focus on the psychic-type weaknesses for the time being. We’ll discuss the three weaknesses that the psychic type has in more detail below.

Humans are extremely intelligent beings, but we often have illogical anxieties. Bugs, ghosts, and the dark are among some of the most absurd concerns that people have.
People all throughout the world have a fairly common phobia of ghosts and little creepy crawlies. We are also not strangers to the terror of the dark. Since the Psychic type is based on humans, the Bug, Ghost, and Psychic kinds were chosen to be the ones that Psychic Pokémon would be vulnerable to as well. These are all typical human fears.
